…Bike Regina is pleased to announce that Regina will be participating in Winter Bike-to-Work Day, which falls on February 14 (Valentine’s Day) this year.  We will be handing out high fives and kisses (Hershey’s kisses, that is) to cyclists at the corner of Lorne St. and Victoria Ave. between 7:30 – 8am and all participants are automatically entered to WIN FABULOUS BIKING GEAR, generously provided by our friends at Western Cycle!

As you can see, our website is undergoing a revamp.

We are interested in knowing what you want to see on our website, this is a place that we hope that discussion can take place and be informative at the same time.

FREE Bicycle Workshops in September

Bike Regina is hosting 3 workshops this month with funding from SGI.

All workshops are FREE or by donation and led by experienced commuter cyclists and certified mechanics. Feel free to RSVP us ( to attend either or all workshops. Hope to see you soon!

Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame (2205 Victoria Ave)
BASIC Commuting skills: Rules of the road, bike handling, communication, and basic bike maintenance.
Classroom and on-road learning. Bring your bike!

Thursday, September 19
6:30 – 8:30 pm
Victoria Park (at Cenotaph)
Learn how to plan safe cycling routes around the city for work and play. Group discussion and community ride to follow. Bring bike and lights!

Thursday, September 26
5:30 – 7:30 pm
Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame (2205 Victoria Ave)
ADVANCED Commuting skills: Collision avoidance, riding in heavy traffic, lane positioning, and bike care and repair.
Classroom and on-road learning. Bring your bike!

Call for Volunteers!

Bike Regina needs volunteers!

The Board of Directors are now sorting through the ideas captured during the brainstorming session at the AGM. Based on the participants feedback, committees will look something like the following:

Education Committee
– “Learn-to-Ride / Safe Cycling” Group
– “Bike Mechanics” Group

Community Building Committee
– “Cycling Support” Group
– Outreach Group

Advocacy Committee
– Bike Policy Lobby
– Bike Infrastructure Lobby

We also need design and copy assistance with promotional-type items – pamphlets, posters, website, etc.

For those of you that filled out the membership form (it’s free!) indicating you have skills to offer, we will contact you once we’ve had our meeting this Saturday to see what you’re interested in doing.

For those who have recently joined Bike Regina (welcome!), but not completed the membership form (it’s free!), fill in our membership form and we will contact you soon.

Bike Regina AGM – February 7, 2013

Bike Regina’s AGM is happening on Thursday February 7, 2013.

Location: Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame Boardroom, 2205 Victoria Avenue

Time: 7 – 8:30 pm

Fill in the membership form to indicate your membership status and involvement. It is FREE and will give you the right to vote for our new Directors. If you are curious about which ward you live in (in membership form), here is the ward map.

We will also be putting a motion to adopt official bylaws for Bike Regina. You can view this here.
